Window Lineal Systems

Composite window systems are commonly made using the pultrusion process. Features required by the end user include long-term performance and pleasing aesthetics.

(Case study) To help meet stricter regulations in China, Shanghai-based Collodin, which specializes in building insulation solutions, teamed up with Owens Corning (PulStrand™ product) and Huntsman Polyurethanes to improve the energy efficiency of its window lineals by fully exploiting PUR pultrusion technology. When comparing the coefficient of thermal expansion, the new materials provide greater dimensional stability, expanding 10 times less than PVC, 3 times less than aluminum alloy and 12 percent less than UPE composites.
