I Beams - C Channels – Angles

GRP (glass reinforced plastic) structural profiles can help a variety of shapes ranging from angled and u-shaped channel to bars, I-beams, tubes and rods. They can not only incorporate glass single-end roving for the high lengthwise mechanical properties of the profile but also bulky roving to fill in the angles, continuous filament mat & fabrics for crosswise mechanical properties and surfacing veils for a better surface appearance. They can be made available with a large number of colour or design options. They are used for many applications in the electrical (cable trays), corrosion, construction, transportation, military and consumer goods areas.

Versus conventional materials, GRP profiles are lighter (up to 70% weight reduction v. steel) and demonstrate high mechanical performance and dimensional stability. They can be manufactured with Owens Corning’s patented boron-free Advantex® glass fiber which combines the electrical and mechanical properties of traditional E-glass with the corrosion resistance and durability of E-CR glass. They are inherently thermal and electrical insulators (600 to 800 times lower thermal conductivity than metal), easily machined, bolted, riveted and threaded just like steel which makes joining of sections simple. They enable ease of handling, light weight transportation and require very low maintenance.
